I’m Julie Walraven, mostly known for my success marketing job seekers for the past 25 years at Design Resumes. Usually, when you see a site with the word marketing in it, you expect someone with a background in marketing businesses.

This site, http://themarketingresultsblog.com will feature my personal journey into social media. A pioneer in the career industry, I have already been coaching business owners throughout the United States on successful ways to use blog marketing and the related applications successfully.

This will create a new blog designed to offer education to individuals and small business owners who would like to use blog marketing as a tool to build new market share.

A little history

I  launched the first Design Resumes WordPress.com blog in October 2008, an experiment in blogging and a further venture into the new world of social media. Though there was a very old website sitting on a remote site for Design Resumes, I procrastinated launching a newer site on designresumes.com for more than 10 years. Prodded into a fast launch in January 2009 by a friend, I rapidly found out how being visible on the web changed my mainly localized business.

In April 2009, I asked Kim Woodbridge to import my blog from the old WordPress.com site to its own home on designresumes.com which was then created in Dreamweaver.

Around the same time, I started reading bloggers like Jim Connolly and Danny Brown to digest all the information I could about this new world of blog marketing and social media.

I soon learned that they were, at the time, both using a product called Headway (affiliate link) created by Clay Griffiths and I liked what I saw. I liked the possibility of a blog site rather than a website with a blog imported. I learned the Headway Premium theme coupled with WordPress could run every aspect of my site and look good besides. In March 2010, I asked Kim to install Headway and move my old content over for me.  I soon found that I could do most of it myself and it was fun.

So long story to tell you that the combination of my journey with blog marketing, Headway, and social media changed the face of my Design Resumes business.

This blog will talk about the lessons I have learned and for some of you, it may open a door for you to explore social media marketing and blog marketing with me as your coach.
